Do Republican Lawmakers Want You To Die?

The question is not how much money should we spend on entitlements, the question should be how much money are we willing to invest in keeping Americans alive!

The Republicans are masters at distracting us from the topics of the day and the real results their actions will bring. They lie and distract us so that we will not see that people die when the wrong decisions are made about Healthcare, Medicare, Social Security and other needed social programs.

Republican lawmakers know more people will die as a result of cutting needed social programs, they are trying to hide that fact from you. Republican lawmakers know that when they cut programs or whittle them down to a point where they are not effective to the largest amount of people that need them, some of those people will die.

Republican lawmakers know that by cutting funding to social programs, families will suffer... kids will go hungry, young people will be forced into serious situations that can cause them to end up in prison... thereby lining the pockets of the big spenders who control the Prisons, which is now a growing business model.

Republican lawmakers know that when the poor and middle class are affected with bad health, starvation and poverty, this gives them a smaller voting block to fight against in all coming elections. That's all this vehement fight about the fiscal cliff is for the Republicans... just another way to stifle the voice of Americans who oppose them in elections, who stand against their grab for power at every election.

Many Americans fought and died to give us the freedom to vote and the right to live a healthy and productive life. Health is a right...not a privilege that some Republican lawmakers have to weigh on their scales of spending versus cutting social programs.

Feeding and caring for a family is not a privilege that Republican lawmakers need to give their Royal consent to, like some evil lord surveying his peasant farmers. These social programs are a right that every American pays for, by the blood, sweat and tears they put forth, to build a great country like ours. These rights are fought for in the battlefields where our soldiers bleed...and fall.

Republican Lawmakers do us a dishonor when they lord over us...and our fallen comrades who give their lives for this country so that their family will be taken care of, so that their kids will have a brighter and more secure future... so that their family will live healthy lives instead of suffering and waiting to die... at the hands of Republican Lawmakers.

On The Fiscal Cliff... President Reagan Raised Taxes, So Should We.

President Reagan learned his lessons really fast when it came to mistakes he made in his tax reforms. He famously tried to cut taxes and walk away without raising revenue to cover those cuts... but learned the hard way that you can't have cuts in some areas and not raise revenues to cover it. So a few months after he cut taxes he had to start raising them again...an amazing 11 times!!

This coming 'Fiscal cliff' event is creating all sorts of discussions and ideas, but if we look at history, it seems all too clear.
Bloomberg.com..."But in the face of large and growing deficits, Reagan eventually did come around on the need for additional revenue. Even before the 1981 tax cut was on the books, many White House advisers had begun to worry about projected deficits, which were on a steady upward march from 2.6 percent of gross domestic product in 1981 to 4 percent in 1982. They would reach 6 percent in 1983.So, just weeks after his Santa Barbara signing ceremony, Reagan floated the possibility of -- wait for it -- closing loopholes. He was careful to avoid any suggestion that he wanted a tax increase. Instead, he and his advisers asked Congress for "revenue enhancements."
Euphemisms can obscure a variety of sins. And Reagan's euphemist, Larry Kudlow -- then an official in the Office of Management and Budget -- was unrepentant. "There's no better way to sell economic theory than by the euphemistic route," he told the New York Times." ...[in other words, confuse the republican base that just don't get it]

Enter Ben Stein...noted eye drops guy...on Fox news trying to educate their viewers. [There's a joke in that statement somewhere]
Mr. Stein is making the clear cut statement that he agrees with President Obama that some raising of taxes is warranted by the present fiscal needs of the country.
Courtesy YoungTurks...
"I hate to say this on Fox-- and I hope I'll be able to leave here alive—but I don't think there is any way we can cut spending enough to make a meaningful difference. We're going to have to raise taxes on very rich people, people with income like say $2-3 million a year and up and then slowly move it down,... " When taxes were 70%-80%, "we were extremely prosperous..."

As President Obama said, 'it's math'  when we raise taxes carefully, we will grow the economy in a positive way and become as Ben Stein says 'extremely prosperous'

President Clinton Tours The Hurricane Devastated Rockaways.

President Clinton made an impromptu tour of some of the affected beach areas in the Rockaways in New York yesterday. He was observed by this AI reporter visiting one disaster recovery site in Rockaway Beach, amid cheers of jubilation and applause by residents of the area. President Clinton was briefed by commanders of a large contingent of the National Guard, which has been on hand coordinating the disaster recovery efforts since Hurricane Sandy devastated the area.

Below is some of the exclusive footage by this AI reporter, of what the President saw during his inspection of the devastated area.

His visit comes fast on the heels of a similar visit by President Obama who visited Hurricane Sandy affected areas three days ago. This one-two punch by the Presidents has been a valued boost to the residents who are struggling to reclaim some semblance of their former lives, which thus far has been a visage of wanton devastation that is so widespread, the likes of which New York has not seen in almost a century.

These visits are in stark contrast to a no show by Republican leaders who have apparently forgotten or not seen it fit to grace the distraught residents of the Rockaways with their 'royal' presence yet... weeks after Hurricane Sandy hit the area. I can only deduce that the Republicans have more pressing business to do...which probably involves champagne, country clubs and dinners attended  by the likes of the Romneys and other one-percenters.

Life goes on for the faceless poor and middle-class families of the Rockaways, who are supported in their time of need by people who really care, much like the Red Cross and the countless churches who bring clothing, food and essential supplies to the devastated areas on a daily basis.

There is still much of the Rockaways that are yet to have electric power restored as the temperature plummets at night, making it that much harder for residents to cope with the hurricane disaster...which was followed the week after by a Nor'easter, which pummeled the area for a second time bringing winds in excess of 60mph, heavy rains and much unwanted flooding to already devastated areas.

'Occupy Sandy' has also set up shop in the area and I look forward to bringing you an update as recovery operations continue.

CNN's Soledad O'Brien Spectacularly Hands Republican Congressman His Head On A Silver Platter Over And Over And Over Again (Video)

I am at a loss for words to see that Joe Heck, a Republican Congressman on the Intelligence Committee, who is about to be part of an Intelligence Hearing at which former CIA Director Patraeus is due to testify about the Benghazi event, is schooled over and over on his obvious lack of Intelligence and the sheer vindictive attitude he and his fellow Republicans harbor against the Obama Administration as they try to carry on the country's business.

At issue was a moronic talking point put out by Republicans which says that UN Ambassador Susan Elizabeth Rice carries some sort of 'pseudo' blame, for presenting the Obama Administration's position right after the Benghazi incident as being of the understanding that a video was the accelerant that caused the deaths of Americans at the US Consulate.

Mr. (Heck if I know) Joe Heck was asked over and over to explain with any coherency (to no avail) what is the difference between Condoleezza Rice's outright lies about WMD's and Susan Rice's truthful rendering of the information that at the time was presented to the Obama Administration and why one statement is ok and the other is not.

What is at issue with both statements, is the fact that the Republicans keep  insisting the lies that were told by Condaleeza Rice about WMD's were acceptable while the truthful statements by Ambassador Susan Rice was somehow unacceptable even though that is what the Intelligence sources had said they thought at the time.

This is truly hilarious. He tempers his idiotic statement after being bitch-slapped, resigning to the admission that he does not blame Susan Rice...(anymore.) Here is the video...

Ranking Republican Reveals - "Conservatives Fleeced And ‘Lied To By Conservative Entertainment Complex’

David Frum broke the most startling revelation  today by admitting - “Republicans have been fleeced and exploited, and lied to by a conservative entertainment complex,”

Mr. Frum, once a speechwriter for President George W Bush, was on MSNBC's  'Morning Joe' when he broke this piece of shocking news to the panel on the show.

This  well known contributing editor for 'The Daily Beast' and 'Newsweek' qualified his statement when he said... "The Republican party has a party of followership, The problem with Republican leaders is that they’re cowards, not that they’re fundamentally mistaken, The real locus of the problem is the GOP activist base and the Republican donor base. They went apocalyptic over the past four years and that was exploited by a lot of people in the conservative world... I won't soon forget the lupine smile that play over the head of one major conservative institution when he told me that our donors think that the apocalypse has arrived...that Republicans have been fleeced and exploited, and lied to by a conservative entertainment complex,”

Scarborough interjected" Wait...I want you ...and I'm dead serious...I want you to slowly repeat this...[long winded comment here] ...hopefully conservatives would go back and look at what commentators [limbaugh, hannity, levin, O'reilly, Fox and Friends, Cavuto, to name a few]  and websites said, over the past three weeks when they knew this race was lost."

David Frum repeated his headline ...“Republicans have been fleeced and exploited, and lied to by a conservative entertainment complex,” ...'I name names in the book" [He just released an e-book titled 'Why Romney Lost']

Joe followed... " Conservatives have been lied to by people who engage in niche marketing and make tens of millions of dollars engaging in niche marketing, and I’m a capitalist, God bless ‘em they can do whatever they want to do…but that’s not an electoral strategy, that’s a business strategy for them.”

Frum later tweeted the challenge ..."By the way, if anybody at Fox would like me to repeat to their faces what I said on Morning Joe this AM, I accept. Unlikely, I know, but …"

Senate To Have Historic Number Of Females.

The Republicans' 'War on women' seems to have given them exactly what they wished for, a war... from women who I am sure will make their presence felt in many ways. It is no secret that when women are involved in making decisions that deal with women's issues, the outcomes are far more advantageous to women than if the traditional sexist old white men made the calls.

There is no way that those stuck up old farts would know the slightest thing about what women go through when faced with excruciating pain or overwhelming odds against their well being. It had become increasingly difficult to watch the old farts propose bill after bill that limited women's well being, limited their contraceptive options and limited their abortion options.

Huffingtonpost.com writes... "Joining the Senate will be Republican Deb Fischer (Neb.) and Democrats Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mazie Hirono (Hawaii) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.).

All six Democratic women up for reelection -- Sens. Maria Cantwell (Wash.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.) and Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) -- won their races.

Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.) lost her Senate race to incumbent Dean Heller.
Five Republican female candidates lost on Tuesday. Wendy Long ran against Gillibrand, Elizabeth Emken went up against Feinstein and Linda Lingle ran against Hirono. Linda McMahon in Connecticut and Heather Wilson in New Mexico also lost.

There are currently 17 female U.S. senators, which had also been a record number. Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) are both retiring"

For the next two years we will have the best Senate we have ever had, simply because there will be a total of twenty female Senators who will be willing to make the hard choices and decisions that old men seem not to grasp; decisions that cause women to face harm and even death... as a result more women will live and prosper under the watchful eyes of these female Senators, both Democratic and Republican alike.

"When women are part of the negotiation and are part of decision-making, the outcomes are just better," Gillibrand told The Huffington Post last year, discussing the importance of having female representation in the chamber. "When we have our dinners with the women in the Senate -- the Democrats and Republicans -- we have so much common ground. We agree on so many basic principles and values. I think if there were more women at the decision-making table, we would get more things done."

Elizabeth Warren Wins Back Kennedy's Seat, Beats Scott Brown!

Elizabeth Warren did what everyone wanted, she beat Scott Brown in a tight race for Ted Kennedy's seat. This will always be Ted's seat... he earned that right as the 'Lion of the Senate.' Scott Brown fought a good race as he was widely regarded by many as a moderate.

According to Maurice Cunningham, a political scientist at the University of Massachusetts, he was well liked enough, to present a challenge for the Democrats to field a candidate to run against him.

USAToday writes... "He's a very strong and very deft candidate," Cunningham said. "He's persuaded folks he's an independent voice. But Warren, a Harvard Law School professor, erupted onto the scene, apparently from nowhere, when a speech she gave in Andover about economics went viral and gained her a national following. She had been an adviser for President Obama and came up with the concept of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau... She's got a lot of passion, particularly on economic issues...She's got that fire that reminds you of Kennedy a little bit"

Warren is a breath of fresh air for the party and the people of Massachusetts who, with Brown, have had to swallow the Republican swill much as Joe Lieberman's constituents have had to do. That is as disgusting as having a blue dog Democrat as your Senator...something I have a hard time accepting. They stab you in the back more times than most. Congratulations to Elizabeth Warren, we look forward to following your bright future as Senator!
