Health Care The Christian Way...

When someone says Health Care, Single Payer or Medicare, Republicans are immediately up in arms. They are of the strict understanding that the Health Care system which helps pay for those who cannot afford it, is bad and in recent times has been called a Socialist system...or Obamacare.
Well, what many do not want you to know is that there is already a system like that out there...it is called Medi-Share, and it is a real system by real Christians giving real care to those who need help to address their Medical needs.
"Medi-Share is a community of more than 36,000 Christians who follow the biblical model of sharing and paying each other's medical bills much like the early church did 2,000 years ago. And as a not-for-profit ministry that promotes healthy biblical lifestyles, participation is affordable."
See the Story at their website.

How does it work?
"Your fixed monthly share amount is used to match others healthcare costs. If you have a medical expense, Medi-Share participants will share your medical bills. In fact, since 1993 more than $490 million have been shared and saved leaving no medical needs unpaid for."
Their statement says..."Healthcare sharing ministries like Medi-Share are the only organizations to be exempt from the
regulations and costs of the recently passed health care bill. (Page 128, H.R. 3590 )"

I would love to let the Republicans/ Conservatives/Teabaggers/Birthers/Neo-Cons, know what real Christians think about Healthcare and why this is a great idea...as the Bible says it should be...maybe they would wake up and see the light...after all, What would Jesus do?

I feel I should also include this comment made by a visitor to my blog www.shockandaweonamerica.com
"James Lansberry said...

I also recommend Samaritan Ministries (www.samaritanministries.org) that I've been a part of since 1996. Over 15,000 families/50,000 Christians sharing medical needs for $320/month or less per family."

" Mar 7 2010
For your quick reading, I've listed key statistics about the Iraq War, taken primarily from data analyzed by various think tanks, including The Brookings Institution's Iraq Index, and from mainstream media sources. Data is presented as of February 16, 2010, except as indicated.

U.S. SPENDING IN IRAQ

Spent & Approved War-Spending - About $900 billion of US taxpayers' funds spent or approved for spending through Sept 2010.

U.S. 2009 Monthly Spending in Iraq - $7.3 billion as of Oct 2009

U.S. 2008 Monthly Spending in Iraq - $12 billion
U.S. Spending per Second - $5,000 in 2008 (per Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on May 5, 2008)

Cost of deploying one U.S. soldier for one year in Iraq - $390,000 (Congressional Research Service)

Lost & Unaccounted for in Iraq - $9 billion of US taxpayers' money and $549.7 milion in spare parts shipped in 2004 to US contractors. Also, per ABC News, 190,000 guns, including 110,000 AK-47 rifles.

Missing - $1 billion in tractor trailers, tank recovery vehicles, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and other equipment and services provided to the Iraqi security forces. (Per CBS News on Dec 6, 2007.)

Mismanaged & Wasted in Iraq - $10 billion, per Feb 2007 Congressional hearings

Halliburton Overcharges Classified by the Pentagon as Unreasonable and Unsupported - $1.4 billion

Amount paid to KBR, a former Halliburton division, to supply U.S. military in Iraq with food, fuel, housing and other items - $20 billion

Portion of the $20 billion paid to KBR that Pentagon auditors deem "questionable or supportable" - $3.2 billion. "

Ok, lets cut the bullshit...these idiots prefer to spend 900 Billion dollars on this Republickers'-loved,  Repuglickers'-cooked-up Iraq war in an eight year period, but they scream about a Health Care bill that will spend less money over the same time and save hundreds of thousands of people?  The numbers speak for themselves...900 billion in eight years of war means an average of 112 Billion per year and counting indefinitely, compared with 940 billion over ten years, or an average of 94 Billion per year. So in my view these Repuglickers are not against this because of the cost...or they would be screaming for us to stop the war. If there are 45000 poor people dying each year for lack of health care, then it must mean they want these people to die for some reason....maybe they do not like or care for poor people and their votes.  If we have a terrorist attack and lose 3000 people every year, it still does not compare or validate letting 45000 poor people die....unless you are a Rich Republican piece of shit....They...the Republican following, the Republican sheep did not care for how much money disappeared or was wasted by the Republican Administration they supported and still supports but they expect us to be fooled by their concern for Health costs...They would have been as vocal against the war and the waste as they are now...if they cared...
