Catholics VS Jews? What's Next?

It is being reported that the Bishops who were called to a meeting at the Vatican in Rome, have Demanded that Israel relinquish and leave the land that it has conquered and occupied since the Six Day War in 1967. The Bishops cite the growing concerns about the condition of lessening numbers of Christians in the region, mainly because of Terrorism, War, Religious conflict, Discrimination and Economic problems among other concerns.


It is reported that the Bishops with the blessing of the Pope, have issued an opinion that Israel should not be using Biblical Scriptures to Justify the injustices the Palestinian people has been made to endure. Since the Occupation in the region, it has been the understanding that the Israel Occupation was a matter of Biblical reasoning as well as political gains due to The Six Day War and keeping the spoils thereof. This decision by the Vatican opens a can of worms in the region, one which some hoped had been closed and sealed a long time ago. This puts a religious face on the new stance against Israel's occupation and gives the Palestinians and others in the region who denounce the Occupation, a new voice and possibly a new reason to attack Israel in an attempt to achieve Israel's withdrawal from the the particular parcel of land. 


It has been widely known that the Superpowers around the Globe have supported Israel thus far because it is the only Democracy in the region, one that was after all established by said Superpowers, to gain a foothold into the lucrative and essential Oil reserves in the region. It is no secret that this move to establish and support Israel has been sold to many, not as a Political and Economic strategy, but one with Religious overtones...of Israel being the Promised Land decreed to the people by God Himself.


With the shifting of religious sentiment and indeed Biblical Creditability for Israel's Occupation, which has now been voiced by the Vatican, we can very well see waning support for Israel by concerned Religious Christians around the world, and maybe even a lesser amount of Political support for Israel in the future, from the Superpowers. Some may even question the timing of the decision by the Vatican, with the expectation by some more fanatical Christians, of the promised Armageddon's arrival and as a result, The Rapture. The next few weeks promise to be quite interesting to say the least.
