And The GOP Clown Car Turns Into A Bus!

The GOP clown car turned into a bus today, with the addition of one more questionable passenger, Mr. Scott Walker. Walker's terrible reputation precedes him as one of the worst Governors to come out of the GOP's horrendous bag of tricks, only second in my opinion to Chris Christie, who had his state's credit rating drop eight times... maybe, I lost count, it may be up to ten times by now.

Unfortunately for Mr. Walker, his big splash of announcing his candidacy was overshadowed by Hillary Clinton's speech which was also scheduled for today and had the desired effect of drowning out Walker's announcement later in the day,  to join the Presidential race. Walker's speech was carried live on Fox and MSNBC but everyone with an eye for snake oil salesmen, seemed to yawn as he hit all the right 'run of the mill' talking points.

Walker's  main theme was just another right wing fanatical 'same old same old'... repeal Obamacare, cut taxes, cut regulations, increase use of the fossil fuels God has blessed us with, poke Iran and Russia in the eye, kiss Israel's ring, do away with common core and any other sensible educational tools and we could all have the government's support under his watch... to home school our kids. You all know I disagree with the home school idea.

Walkers speech this evening came hard on the heels of what is believed to be his main rival, Donald Trump's own riveting speech. The Donald still stands by the ridiculous claim that Mexicans are sent to the US by the Mexican government, and when they get here they rape and commit crimes to the extent that they are singlehandedly destroying America and deporting every one of them will save us.

I hasten to add that there has not been any blowback by the GOP or the Republican base to Trump's claim, which only confirms that he is indeed talking on behalf of the Republican party and their base as a whole. The RNC has not been able to muzzle Trump and the silence by the GOP and the base says a lot about the racist undertones of the fight wing... an undertone believed to become the biggest plague the party will have to face in this upcoming election.

Unfortunately for Trump, the great escape by the most dangerous drug lord in Mexico proves one thing... Mexicans can dig tunnels and thereby trump Trump's 'great wall.' The Donald has already seen the conspiracy by the Mexican government and has since asked the FBI to investigate the matter.

On The Fiscal Cliff... President Reagan Raised Taxes, So Should We.

President Reagan learned his lessons really fast when it came to mistakes he made in his tax reforms. He famously tried to cut taxes and walk away without raising revenue to cover those cuts... but learned the hard way that you can't have cuts in some areas and not raise revenues to cover it. So a few months after he cut taxes he had to start raising them again...an amazing 11 times!! 

This coming 'Fiscal cliff' event is creating all sorts of discussions and ideas, but if we look at history, it seems all too clear.

Bloomberg.com..."But in the face of large and growing deficits, Reagan eventually did come around on the need for additional revenue. Even before the 1981 tax cut was on the books, many White House advisers had begun to worry about projected deficits, which were on a steady upward march from 2.6 percent of gross domestic product in 1981 to 4 percent in 1982. They would reach 6 percent in 1983.So, just weeks after his Santa Barbara signing ceremony, Reagan floated the possibility of -- wait for it -- closing loopholes. He was careful to avoid any suggestion that he wanted a tax increase. Instead, he and his advisers asked Congress for "revenue enhancements."

Euphemisms can obscure a variety of sins. And Reagan's euphemist, Larry Kudlow -- then an official in the Office of Management and Budget -- was unrepentant. "There's no better way to sell economic theory than by the euphemistic route," he told the New York Times." ...[in other words, confuse the republican base that just don't get it]

Enter Ben Stein...noted eye drops guy...on Fox news trying to educate their viewers. [There's a joke in that statement somewhere]
Mr. Stein is making the clear cut statement that he agrees with President Obama that some raising of taxes is warranted by the present fiscal needs of the country.

The Romneys’ Hands Caught In The Cookie Jar, Time For Mitt To Prove Himself

It was learned yesterday that Mitt and Ann Romney have more than likely broken ethics laws. The law is simple; The Nation.com writes:
Federal law requires that candidates disclose stock holdings that are affected by government action—and Romney’s million-dollar (at least) investment in a hedge fund that bought up Delphi stocks surely fits that bill…  Under any rational interpretation of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, these are holdings that a presidential candidate would need to disclose, because they can be affected by government action.”

On Thursday afternoon, UAW President Bob King and SEIU Vice President Tom Woodruff, among others, called for an official investigation into Mitt Romney’s investments and the possible ethics violations stemming from those investigations. Mitt’s investments in Delphi stock, through a blind trust in Ann Romney’s name, is the center of  attention because the investments clearly raise concerns of violations.

The event on Thursday was held in Toledo, OH. A strongly worded letter was sent to Mr. Don Fox, General Counsel and Principal Deputy Director, United States Office of Government Ethics. Excerpts from the letter reads as follows:
“We are writing to provide you with further evidence of the pressing need to conduct the investigation we requested in our previous letter of August 23, 2012 into presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s financial disclosures, which do not appear to be in compliance with the Ethics in Government Act, 5 U.S.C. App. § 101 et seq.

As we stressed in our initial letter, those disclosures lack information about the candidate’s stock holdings which the public has a right to know. As you are aware, the Act requires candidates for federal office to disclose their financial holdings so that the public can identify potential conflicts of interest and personal economic  priorities of federal officials and candidates. While some officials use blind trusts to satisfy these disclosure requirements, Mitt Romney himself has said “The blind trust is an age-old ruse, if you will. Which is to say you can always tell a blind trust what it can and cannot do.”

The issue is not if or how much money the investment made, the issue is that, in all honesty, a Presidential candidate must release certain financial information as proof that he/she is of a caliber that is high enough – sterling enough – to represent the country on a global stage.

It is high time that Mitt and his ‘blind’ trusts are investigated. How can he run for the Presidency without revealing his (in my opinion) tainted and questionable taxes? I refuse to have an alleged thief for a President and the onus lies upon him to prove his quality and commitment to represent America…and by extension, the world.

CLASS WARFARE, SLAVES TO THE WEALTHY, BY GEORGE CARLIN

Well, everyone has now seen how badly this "Bush Tax Cuts" debate has gone so far...there was no debate. The Republicans said ...massage my shoulder will ya? The Democrats are now the masseur, massaging the Elephant's shoulder, putting lotion on his feet...and kissing where the sun don't shine... cleaning up their shit, adding at least 700 Billion dollars more to the deficit... This shit certainly leaves a bad taste in our mouths. That is some shit...


My head is spinning, I am gravely hurt by the President's speech on Monday December 6th, where he seems to have bowed down to his aggressor who wants the poor in this country to become slaves to the wealthy, to have no dignity and pride in themselves or their families...their Parents...Their Spouses...Their children. I feel like I am in the days of slavery all over again...I feel the pain and anguish they...the Slaves must have felt...stripped of every shred of self worth, pride and indeed Human dignity and decency, as if "We the people" are not worth it, and no one gives a damn.


Certainly I wonder sometimes if our Leaders don't give a damn, because it appears they are not willing to fight for us. We did not elect leaders to go there and surrender for us, If we wanted to surrender, or be defeated,  we would have sent someone who we knew was an idiot or a coward...we didn't. We sent educated people, who we think are capable of getting the job done, who are willing to fight, because when the fighting is done, we would be assured that what we get would have been the best we could get...But right now, the Democrats are not fighting, they are just massaging the Elephant's shoulders, following their orders, and being a Disappointment to the American People...the 85% of us who did not vote in November, for the Republicans.


Maybe I am wrong, or misinformed...maybe there was a fight that took place and "We the People" just did not see it, did not know it, because it was behind closed doors, against very powerful entities, Foreign and Domestic. I have often said the President is privy to more information than I am...so maybe he knows what he is doing more than I know what he is doing. Maybe he saw the light at the end of the tunnel, and I am just slogging through the darkness looking for a helping hand out of poverty. 


 I am anything but speechless, but there is a traffic jam...a bottleneck in my throat, because there are too many words trying to come out at the same time...it's choking me...so I will let the Late and always Great Mr. George Carlin do my talking for me...because I am really hurting by the Democrat's surrender without a fight...Some say The President paid the RANSOM...I agree with that, I understand the hard road...but it still sticks in my craw...


Stephen Colbert says he can't wait for the Taxes to stay the same so he can create all those jobs...Stephen got it right...no one in the Wealthy Country Clubs will be creating jobs...maybe we can give away Social Security while we are at it...I just had to add Stephen's video as well. Let me clarify, I Blame the Republicans for Blackmailing us, I do not blame the President for making the best deal he thinks we can try to get, rather than getting nothing at all... 


I think upon further reflection, I will support the President...my President...because he can do for me what I cannot do for myself...secure a better future for my children. The old people have a saying...Stoop to Conquer... so I will Stoop with my President...so we will get stronger and rise higher later.

Patriotism?...What's That?

Patriotism is a love of and loyalty to one's country. This is something the Corporations are trying to stifle and destroy, by convincing Republicans that they need to be subservient to the Companies and tow the party line. For Decades the Companies via the Republicans have tried to strip the standards and regulations away, that we require them to be subjected to and they are winning. Substandard food products, inhumane and unhealthy working conditions,  environmental pollution, inadequate wages, excessive and greedy practices on Wall St. and attacks on the very fabric of freedom and goodwill that America was built on, is where they have brought us to now. 


It is no secret that the Republican Party has for Decades tried to strengthen the Corporate choke hold on the country, and  break America's backbone in the process. Open your eyes...it's 2010 and they are winning...The Corrupt Corporations are winning...and the Corrupt Republicans are winning...America is losing. The result of the  Republican way of groveling to, begging of and fanatically kissing the Corporate hand, is what we see now...recession... dismay...poverty...and dark uncertainty for the future, with their recent election victories...at the hands of SCOTUS.

To the Corporations, this is just par for the course because they do not belong to America, they are Multinational, they are Global Conglomerates, they are shoppers in a Global Marketplace. They produce their products in foreign countries and pretend that they do not need to adhere to our rules to sell those products here. They are capable of bending those rules or bribing our Politicians and Supreme Court Judges, to help them break those rules. 


Bribery with money? No, bribery with the assurance that if they the Companies get what they want, the Corrupt Politicians and Corrupt Judges will also get theirs in turn. One just has to look to see who in the Supreme Court made the decision that the government may not ban political spending by corporations in candidate elections, to see their intentions and tactics of appeasing the Corporations at the expense of the Country. Patriotism is truly dead...in those circles.

The Companies have savvy accountants who know how to keep the profits offshore in foreign accounts so it is not taxed by any country. What they do not want you to realize is that they do need to be here, they do need to sell their  products here, because America amounts for 25% of the World's GDP, and they thirst for the money generated by us, to buy their products. They are not America...We are!  


If they choose to leave and do no business in this Country, another company willing to pay taxes and follow our regulations and higher standards will replace them, so we should not try to appease them in order to keep their jobs here. We should charge them Tariffs on their Foreign made products, to level the field and cause them to keep the Manufacturing Jobs here, which in turn would mean the profits stay here and are Taxed here. Taxes are an integral part of our being able to run our Society and Pay for our services. So don't do like the Republicans and sell out to the Corporations, fight...fight for America...Patriots.
