Proof That Red States Are The Real Welfare States.

I had written this article previously that showed in no uncertain terms that the Red States were the ones that were receiving more dollars back from the government than the money they give to the Feds. That article gave us these figures...'States receiving the most federal funding per tax dollar paid:
1. New Mexico: $2.63
2. West Virginia: $2.57
3. Mississippi: $2.47
4. District of Colombia: $2.41
5. Hawaii: $2.38
6. Alabama: $2.03
7. Alaska: $1.93
8. Montana: $1.92
9. South Carolina: $1.92
10. Maine: $1.78

Now we have new data coming from US Dept Of Agriculture and crunched by the financial whizzes at Bloomberg that tell a different story about why Red States take the cake at being the Welfare queens. According to the findings... "Seventy percent of counties with the fastest-growth in food-stamp aid during the last four years voted for the Republican presidential candidate in 2008 according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg. They include Republican strongholds like King County, Texas, which in 2008 backed Republican John McCain by 92.6 percent, his largest share in the nation; and fast-growing Douglas County,Colorado."

Douglas County Republican Party's Mark Baisley thinks that the republican voter will be on Mitt Romney's side... even though they are largely the majority of the '47%' that Mitt seems to want to scrape off his shoe like dog droppings. Mr. Nicholas Colas, chief market strategist at ConvergEx Group LLC thinks President Obama will command the more [risk averse] educated voter who takes the less risky and longer road to success.

Romney had [unintelligently] suggested transferring control of food stamps and other federal programs to states but that would just end in disaster when Nature unfurls her fury on states; like we saw happen with Hurricane Sandy last week, and with Hurricane Katrina before.  The states hit by disaster do not have the capability to deal with these programs while they are reeling from natural or other disasters, this would mean families would starve for weeks or months if this were to happen.

With that lack of intelligent thinking on the part of Romney, it is pretty scary to think that a 1%er will make compassionate decisions where the 47% are concerned...I hope Mitt loses this election.
