Pres. Obama has a big stick...and balls.

Quotes from NYTimes.com
"WASHINGTON — With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities.
“We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues,” said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff.
Any president has vast authority to influence policy even without legislation, through executive orders, agency rule-making and administrative fiat. And Mr. Obama’s success this week in pressuring the Senate to confirm 27 nominations by threatening to use his recess appointment power demonstrated that executive authority can also be leveraged to force action by Congress."
“If the stalling tactics continue,” said Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, “he’s not ruling out using recess appointments for anybody that he’s nominated.”

Now that's what I'm talking about...them thar obstructionists done gone an got that feller riled up like a rattler an' done made 'im strike up some fire in that thar White House.
He'd better work fast too 'cause he needs to show before the elections this year, that he can make a difference despite the idiotic Repuglickers and their stalling tactics. Cheney is all up in the game...as if anybody cares about what he has to say. He should just crawl back under his muddy rock...and take Karl "the Nazi" Rove with him. Don't worry about Dubya...he's gonna crawl into a bottle soon enough, and I just heard Palin tripped on her shoe laces and fell off Alaska and ended up in Russia.

  1. Bush did it - appointments during recess, so tit for tat, what's good for the goose, and all 'dat. I say go for it, Mr. President! Just don't appoint anyone too assholish... :)

  2. About bloody time. The Republicans have been acting like they're the ones with a mandate, when they lost the last two elections massively. Obama's the boss. He should act like it.

  3. G'OBAMA!

    :)

p.s. Speaking of the despised Dubya, the "pretend cowboy from Texas", did you know when Dubya.The.Vile.Prick visited then-president Vincente Fox of Mexico, Fox almost got a hernia from laughing at the "big bad cowboy president from Texas."

    Do you know why?

Because DUBYA IS AFRAID OF HORSES.

    BWHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAA!

    :)

  4. This is what Obama needs to do. I hope he isn't too late. Reconciliation, recess appointments, executive orders -- whatever it takes. One year of paralysis is enough.

The Republicans' entire strategy is to make Obama look helpless and inept by their constant delaying tactics. They're counting on the voters being so disgusted with the Democrats' paralysis that they'll vote Republican this November.

  5. I completely agree with Obama getting tough. My worry though having the executive resort to these measures is a sure sign not just of partisan paralysis but of an ineffective and broken government.

As the legislative branch bickers alternating presidents yank the ship of state from one extreme to the other undoing what the previous guy before him did.

Now in the case of Bush I have no issue, what worries me is the guy after Obama.

  6. Teeluck,
It would have been nice to think so at one time. IMO he has a very small and limp stick, and Wall St friendly balls. Someone may have told him he needs to put on a little act to fool his base for a time.Liberals get all jazzed every time he says "fat cats" or alludes to how he welcomes a fight. Then he crawls back inside Lloyd Blankfeins ass again until it's time to come out and make another stirring speech.

  7. Well I must say, I am terribly impressed that you made it through the entire Sarah Mc Laughlin song. :P
I actually only like a few of her songs myself. I swear to gawd that if I hear her singing "In THe Arms of The Angels" one more time at some awards show to pay *homage* to dead celebrities I'm going to kill myself. Or her. One or the other. I SWEAR!!!!
    :P
Drop by my blog anytime you wish. :) I love meeting new people. I'm not terribly deep as I'm sure you've already discovered but I try. :)
I don't know a lot about American politics... or Canadian for that matter but I'll try and throw in the odd comment here and there.

I guess I'll see you around then eh? :P

    ((Hugs))

  8. I think it was disgusting the way that that Shelby bozo held up Obama's court appointees. And, yeah, all over frigging pork, too, for Christ sakes. Also, Teeluck, I'm on the record as saying that Obama should have used an executive order to get rid of don't-ask/don't-tell (recognizing, of course, that a congressional action would have been necessary to get rid of it permanently)......Oh, and, yes, make the Republican filibuster. A real filibuster, I'm saying. Call their bluff, in other words. Maybe that way we'll know where the American people really stand

  9. Hi Bee, at this point I would be willing to blame a zit on my ass on Bush...which would be fitting (close to this asshole's asshole)

Infidel, welcome... I'm keepin my fingers crossed, but as you see with mutineering blue dogs like Evan Bayh, he's got his work cut out for him.

Hill, funny thing, when I was reading your comment I was scrolling it up slowly and enjoying the joke of it...but when I reach the part about the "Texan Prick" being afraid of horses I laughed so hard I almost choked! Thank you so much for that...I loved it

Hi Tom, if the President lets the Repuglickers succeed in making his administration a lame duck, then he will deserve and get some defeat in November.

Hey Beachman...that's true that the present administration is a bit tied down and not scoring goals, but I can understand why, many of the key people are still holdovers from Bush's time. Having a new President who is courageous enough to try to swing the ship around is a great thing, and a big ship like ours makes wide turns and takes a long time to slow down, but I feel safe that he has our backs...even with all the shit Cheney and the Repuglickers are doing.

Oso, there are many people that we cannot spank when they have been bad, but their deeds do come back to haunt them, so the President does not have to knock himself out defeating these wall st pigs (pricks), they will get theirs...I still lick my boss's ass even though he cut my hours in half, so too the President has to play politics with these men if only to keep them engaged in this country's affairs and not throw all the business towards China, India and Brazil. From what I have seen with the President, he is too strong to lick balls...but he is smart, he will play dead to catch a vulture though, stoop to conquer... as it will get him more favorable results than fighting too hard...remember he does not want to scare business away to foreign shores, he must balance the pressure he puts on them...it's business, the Country's business. That's his job...

Hey Sunshine, happy to see you here, the angel song is the only other song I knew, she was good at the opening though, I also eat Bon Bons...not...we have lots in common, I have Beach Bum to blame for meeting you...and your blog is nice...it will keep me balanced within the fierce world of politics so I will visit often, thanks

  10. Hey Will, yea I think we will see the Dems get some balls coming closer to November...if they wish to stick around, so we may see them force the use of the filibuster soon. Hey, did you see Sunday on meet the press when Rachel wiped her ass with Shocke? That is funny.
